OK, so here we are now, in deep trouble. Well, that is what some say, others say no. Some economists say do nothing, others say the bailout is dire. And once again, we are in the middle, not knowing who to believe, what to believe, where to turn. And of course, our wonderful politicians are quick to say, "now is not the time for blame," and then they all proceed to turn around and blame someone. The truth is, everyone shares the blame. And yes, even those who bought houses they could not afford are somewhat to blame, but not much if you ask me. Let's consider these few things: The cost of houses, the American dream we have been pumped with since birth, the advertising and selling by all involved in pushing people into those homes.
Let's first take the cost of houses. Way, way, way overpriced. How is anyone supposed to ever get a house with houses way overinflated. This is partly the greed of the homeowners, and partly who knows. But houses are way overpriced. Especially in some states like California. Add to this the fact that apartments are way overpriced. Rents are way too high. So along comes someone telling you that you can have your own house. I mean, after all, the price is almost the same as rent, and then at least if you want a freaking dog or want to paint a freaking wall, you can without asking someone and getting turned down and having to hide a pet, and not to mention all the morons you have to live next to or downstairs from. So, you bite. You get the house. And, of course, if your credit is iffy then you are really going to get screwed. The interest is going to be crazy and in two years it goes bananas. I suppose when the do-gooder lawmakers, etc, ignored all the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac fiasco they might have had good intentions, to try and get people into a house that normally could not. But did it work? No! Now the people are worse off than ever, now their credit is even more atrocious, now they don't have had their own home and have to go back to an apartment.
The problem is that even though the people managed to get into the house, they could not keep it because they are raked over the coals with the interest rates and then the adjustable rates and some CEOs are laughing all the way to the bank, well maybe not anymore, well maybe the bank in the Cayman Islands, and who is left holding the bag? The politicians? Nope. The people. They are screwed again. Then we hear about things like Mark to Market, that seems fishy, and how much money politicians received from Fannie and Freddie, and on and on and on. And again, who gets screwed? We do.
Then there is the American dream. Well, I suppose it is not such a bad thing. Grow up, get a good paying job or career, get married, have a family, buy a house, live happily ever after. Well, no such thing, but not a bad idea. I mean seriously, why is wanting to own a house such a bad thing. After all, everyone wants to have a place they can call their own and why shouldn't they? The problem is that the prices have gotten ridiculously high, but rents are high unless you want to live in a bad neighborhood, and there should not even be bad neighborhoods, but too many people doing bad things everywhere, and oh my God! I could go on and on and on and on.
But all this is mute! It is just one more thing to be heaped onto the pile of a complex life we have all been thrust into. Everything is so complicated. Everything is so crazy. And now with the Internet, we all know how crazy and complicated in a split second!! We are inundated with bad news, everywhere we go, even on our cell phones, we are being bombarded with it from all sides!
Then, the nerve of the politicians who are telling us that they are trying to help Main St., help the folks, bail out the credit industry and banking industry so we don't get screwed more and what do they do???? They throw in their freaking earmarks!!! They take more of our money and try to give it to their freaking groups like Acorn! What right do they have to do this??? They have no right. They are so totally out of control. I swear, everyone that voted yes on this bailout should loose their jobs. Everyone of them should go. Maybe we can find some honest people to represent us. Good luck! These people are crooks! They should be jailed for the scams they are trying to pull. We need change all right. We need to get rid of all the people in Congress and the Senate who are stealing from us right and left.
And then there is that freaking Nancy Pelosi! What planet is she from? Who does she think she is? I can't stand the woman another minute. She is the worst Speaker we have ever had. Her agenda is so full of her needs, her wants, her scams. Where will it all end??? How much chaos can the people of this country take until they have had enough? Again I say send them all packing!!!

Letterman, Couric, and others
Okay, so do you want some cheese with that whine Dave? And let's see, can we trip you up Katie without you having the advantage of reviewing cheat sheets? This is all so ridiculous! I suppose we should not expect our senators to be in Washington working out a solution to this financial crisis. I suppose they can all be reached by phone if needed!!! Oh, and I am sure that Senator McCain had everyone in Washington in on the act and set the stage for him to pull a "stunt" by wanting to do his job. If Obama had gone to Washington and McCain had not, what a different story everything would be crying right now.
This is just so typical. Why don't you people learn to tell the truth! Come on! Everything Obama does is not right and everything McCain does is not wrong and vice-versa! And Katie! What a way to try and pick up some ratings, trying to trip up Governor Palin. She has accomplished a lot in her career so far, I mean for crying out loud, she is a freaking governor! Isn't it more important to ask her what her plans are as vice president, what she thinks of the current situation and how she thinks she might deal with it if it were up to her? Instead, you play these stupid games! What kind of a journalist are you anyway?
And again Dave! I suppose it is more important to come on your show, where McCain will probably be hacked to death anyway by you, and make joviality's, instead of really be concerned and go do his job. This is an extremely important situation. Maybe not to millionaires such as yourself. I suppose the price of gas and food, etc., and the thought of loosing your job does not bother you, but the rest of us, we are close to being in some serious serious trouble and here is a guy who wants to help fix it and all you can do is dis him! Get real!!! Grow up Dave! Grow up Katie! Go back to the school yard if you want to play your pathetic silly games. We need people who are for this country right now, who want to roll up their sleeves and help, not who have a hidden or not so hidden agenda and they cannot even say why.
